Endgame, trading, economies, challenges, leagues etc create that kind of content. There needs to be a culture underneath it. Gaming has gone beyond just playing the game for playing sake. Sure, sitting in trade chat sucks, but it also encourages players to interact for the same interests.

Trading means people, lots of people, doing the same thing. I want to farm, look for items for different classes, be encouraged to create a new alt, have trading, have all that stuff. Let’s just hope they go back to the roots of ARPGs - which is itemization and HIGHLY customizable skill tree systems that make a player want to play it over and over. I’m certain that Blizzard hasn’t abandoned Sanctuary and they WILL create a Diablo 4. Did they think there was no hope for the ARPG genre? No, they realized they couldn’t salvage the game with what they had without essentially creating a whole new game underneath. It’s no secret that Blizzard just abandoned Diablo 3. Simply because they embraced the economy aspect and had design support. The games are vastly different, and PoE came out on top. I’m simply pointing out how PoE, aside from their game engine - is far above Diablo 3. There are still a bunch of people playing - but a vast majority have left. I’m not beating those people down at all.

Diablo 3 has none, therefor, unless you love the smooth repetitive nature of Diablo 3, there’s nothing in it for you. Diablo 2s economy is still alive and well today.
